I have just been watching the 1943 "Jack London" starring Susan Hayward. Whilst referring to the IMDB for more information I read that Susan died, age 57, in March 1975 in Hollywood.

She had been diagnosed with brain cancer, allegedly the result of being exposed to dangerous radioactive toxins whilst in Utah in 1954 where she was on location making "The Conqueror".

All the leads, John Wayne, Agnes Moorhead, John Hoyt, Pedro Armendariz, Susan Hayward, and director Dick Powell all died of cancer.

The IMDB says;- "The case is still a scandal".

No one told the film company that the desert had been used for radioactive tests.
