I finally got 2 of the pathe stencil color films...I'm so amazed to finally see these up close, they are unbelievable to think of the precision and work that went into stenciling these films...

I acquired #89 LE THE / and #494 BIARRITZ - LA COTE D'ARGENT

Hi Winbert,
Here is a link to Graham Newnhams's great article on 9.5mm stencil colored films posted on his superb 9.5mm web site:

http://www.pathefilm.freeserve.co.uk/95stencilcol.htm

And here is another ecellent article, along with a YouTube film of a Pathe stencil color film, from the Bioscope web site:

Paul ...

Thanks for those GREAT links. It's amazing what they had to go through to make those color prints. The color, on some sections, looks so near life-like. Quite a testament to what they did.

How will you go about your restoration and archiving that print, Dino? No doubt a frame by frame printing of it on safety stock?

I have but one 9.5 film. Its a full Mickey Mouse cartoon, when he goes into a haunted house. Never had a projector to play it, but I thought it would be fun to actually own one of those.

Very rare to find indeed, those stencil colored 9,5's.

I got one colored 9,5mm about a weaving machine. I don't think it's complete however.
