Hi, I`ve said it before, but I really do feel we need to spread our range of things discussed, bring on board say new films at the cinema, DVd`s, whats what in the film world in general.Even thoughts on any news items.
Many of us do DVD`s, 16mm , video projection, go to the cinema etc and I can`t help thinking a broader range of topics even just in the general forum would generate a bit more interest.
Not least as theres not much here fo anyone but the die hard super 8 fan, we might catch a few on the fringes so to speak as well.
Any thoughts.
best Mark.

Hmmmm...

What I like about this board is it's focus (pun intended) on projection and film collection. It gives it something special that the other Super-8 boards that are concentrated on filmmaking and transfer to video don't have. I don't mind us wandering into a little filmmaking here and there (I'm also a filmmaker)but if we start getting into DVDs and Video we'll be too general interest and what's good about what we have now will get lost in the static.

It's like this: I used to belong to a canoeing club. Then kayaking became big and the powers that be decided to become a canoeing/kayaking club to bring in more people. Well, now it's a kayaking club and I don't have a club to go to anymore.

I agree with Steve...if this forum doesn't stay true to what it is, then what's the point? It is what it is....

Joe's right and so is Popeye: "I Yam What I Yam And That's All That I Yam". I have DVDs, CDs, CBs, VHS, MP3s, and BVDs and I live close to the CDC. Super 8 is an escape into the world of collecting and nostalgia. The search for the illusive perfect print to have and to hold in my grubby little white gloved hands and to cherish. [Roll Eyes]
