Yes even I need some help sometimes [Wink]
Seriously though I am trying to find replacement Din Speaker socket for the back of one of my GS 1200's. The socket is one of the chassis mounting types but is switched so that the internal speakers are muted when the plugs are inserted.
On mine the switched part has gone intermittent so that one of the speakers doesnt allways produce sound. [Frown] temporarily I have shorted the socket out so that the speaker will work but I want to get the socket replaced full stop.
I have tried all the outlets in the UK I can think of but can only find the non-switched version. Does anyone know of a source of switched sockets in the US for instance. The switched version has 3 contacts on the rear and the non-switched has 2.
Any help would be welcome. [Smile]

Thanks, Kev.

Hi Kevin,
Try contacting Leon Norris "Mr. Elmo USA" at 610-275-1225. He carries quite a few spare items for the GS1200. Leon is a really great guy, very knowledgeable about the GS1200, like yourself. One word of warning though Kevin, Leon loves to talk! I can usually plan on a 45 minute conversation every time I order a part from him. So be forwarned as you will be placing an international call on exorbitant BT rates!

Have you tried RS Components or Farnells ?

Yes David, along with Maplin and a number of others. Everyone sells the std nonswitched version but not the switched.

Thanks, Kev.

Kev,
No, unfortunately Leon does not have email-I don't think he has much, if any, interest in computers. It would be great if he would partake in this forum, but I don't think that will happen. If you call him, you will usually get his answering service. This would work out good for you though Kev , as you could leave a quick message about your problem, and get back to Leon a few hours later after he has had time to research the issue and see if he has the parts, thus limiting your phone bill. Leon might even call you back from this side of the pond! I will send you Leon's adress offline, in case you want to write to him.

Kevin, I've got a couple of used switched DIN sockets. Do you need the mono or stereo version? Let me have your address and I'll put one in the post.
