Is a Xenophot Bulb brighter than a Halogen or is it a Halogen? Is an EFR Bulb a Xenophot?

Dan,
Normal Halogen bulbs are filled with Krypton gas. In Xenophot lamps, the fill is xenon gas. Xenon allows for a higher filament temperature, so Xenophot bulbs are approx. 20% brighter. The EFR bulb (15v, 150w) is available in both Halogen and Xenophot.

Spot on Doug. Couldnt have put it better my self except to say that in my opinion they seem to die quicker than the std Halogens and run hotter. How many times have you removed a xenophot and found the dichroic reflector layer has gone all mirky which I dont tend to find with the non xenophot's. The result tends to be patchy illumination on the screen. [Frown]
