Having had between the hands two GS1200 badly working (but it are like new, now), have had to take apart the cams of these projectors. The projectors was a first and last version. Well, with my great surprise I have noticed that the "channels" of the cams (the path that the peg follows) are different. That means the Elmo technicians could have varied the times of run the photogram, so that, to parity of times of movement, in the last series the advance of the photogram is sweeter. That would explain the reason for which the second series has a sweeter noise.
What do you think folks?

Ugo, thats an interesting observation. The ver 1.5 I'm selling on ebay however is the quietest of my 3 machines in respect of cam mechanism. Having said that they all run very sweetly. Is the earlier machine you speak of a ver 1 or 2 and whats its serial number?
I think there were very subtle mods made on the GS's over the time of their production for instance I have noticed one or two mods to the amplifier boards as well.

Version I: 821932

Version III: 829475

You have to remember that on the ver. I the shutter has 50° blades; on the ver. III it has 53° blades. Is there a connection between the change of the shutter and the modify to the cam?
Anyway both the version work well with a 45° blades shutter...

Ugo, My ver 1.5 as I call it is No:823478. Wonder when this change happened. I bet they changed the claw pull down speed which would then need the shutter angle changing?
Interesting!

Next days I'll take some photos of two cams like that.
Anyway if the run-time of the frame is different, why both the machines work fine with a small blade like that at 45°?
I think the modify was made to have a sweeter run, not more slow.
