The projector was a friend and has passed away, but is still in mint condition. [Eek!]

If you look at ALL the pictures........

One will show that the LENS IS MISSING.

On all these models with this kind of basic shot, the lens is clearly obvious. If you don't see it, then it's gone. Looks like Dan almost fell for it. Snicker snicker!

Also just so you know....these machines have a rubber feed roller just above the lens that works with autoloading. There are no sprockets in this design of dual 8 machine...only a film claw.

In many of these machines, long years of no use, and long period storage in nasty enviornments will cause this glue to hold the rubber to the shaft a mildew will form. It is the mildew that eats the rubber feed roller and it turns in to a soft jel like vasoline jelly. When this rubber feed roller is gone, so is the operation of the machine.

And yet in most ebay auction photos, very few if any at all show the condition of the roller, usually goo goo.

So anyways, more junkers at a high bid price.

Everything runs but nothing works.

Buyer beware! [Eek!] [Confused] [Mad]

I saw this add. I emailed them asking about the lens and heres what I got back.

You asked:
"Hello Looking at the pictures can you tell me where is the lens. The projector is usless without it. Thank you."

Hi. I thought I had taken pictures of it all. I am totally dumb when it comes to these things. If you could tell me what exactlly it looks like and where it would be I could answer your question. Thanks Sandie

OK folks. Maybe the (fogged) lens is in the box. Let's make this complicated. Alan, why don't you write and ask her about the rubber feed roller?

Hi Chip

She obviously has no idea what she's selling or she's playing dumb.
I sent an email replying to her question asking me to please describe what a lens is.
Heres her reply:

Subject : Re: Question for item #3843457509 - BELL & HOWELL MOVIE PROJECTOR SUPER 8 AUTOLOAD #481A

Thank you so much for bringing this to my attention. I will have to tell the
winning bidder so that way he can change his mind if he wants. I must of
misplaced it or something. I know everything was there when I got it. Anyway,
you have a good weekend.
Sandie
