I have an Elmo 1200 (not stereo) that can't rewind an entire reel of 400-feet. It starts out strong, then starts to slow down halfway through the reel and crawls to a stop. I've torn it down, lubricated the gears, checked the belts, cleaned the rollers that drive the shutter and rewind gears. The machine delivers a lot of power to the rewind section without a reel of film on it. But when the tension from the supply side is present, it slows down and stops. Any ideas? It works fine, otherwise, and appears to have had very little use, perhaps because of this problem. I bought it at a flea market for $75!
