I only ever resort to going that far if I really need to because you have to remove the black plastic legend to undo the screws which hold one or two sockets which have to be undone.
A tip here though is to remove the double sided adhesive tape from the rear of the plastic legend. after this you can drop the plastic sheet into near boiling water. This will make the plastic go very flat and remove any bends etc that happened while removing it in the first place. Put on some fresh double sided tape and once it is replaced it will look as good as new.
Another reason for not stripping the amp down is the chance of causing dry joints on the circuit tracks - which does happen [Frown]

Its very important when unplugging the amp from the main circuit board/chassis that you don not put any force on the edge connector. This will damage the legs on the STK output IC and cause the loss of sound in one channel or both with the result that the IC has to be replaced. This can also lead to very loud intermittent noises especially when the machine is first turned on. [Eek!]

Kev.
