I have a super-8 magnetic sound Blackhawk print of Charlie Chaplin's THE GOLD RUSH, which is (of course!!) the 1925 version with a piano soundtrack (the William Perry one, or was that William Kerry? *not sure*).
I'm looking for any alternate musical soundtracks that may exist for the 1925 version... I don't want any 1942 re-issue soundtracks since 1. the 1942 version was slightly cut and 2. Chaplin's own voice narrates over the music.
Does anybody know if there were certain VHS or DVD releases of the 1925 film with a non-piano (i.e. orchestral) soundtrack? I do have a short super-8 digest of GOLD RUSH as well, which was released by Piccolo-Film and has completely different music - I have reason to believe this music came from the full-length German super-8 print released by Atlas Films (according to Andreas Eggeling).
Who can help?

Try KINO Video. I'm sure they have a website. They have been in the film restoration/VHS/DVD business for many years and specialize in Silent Classics as well as other classic releases.

Aside from Kino video, a company titled: Front Row Entertainment, released The Gold Rush. I have not seen it, but it was for sale on DVD in the customer service area of a local Supermarket a few months ago.

Front Row, had a wonderful colorized transfer of Laurel and Hardy in Babes in Toyland.
