Hi,

I just want to know from you guys, according to your opinion, what is the most repeatable title that available in 8mm?

This polling must be divided into four sections, so you are encouraged to answer respectively, i.e:

1. A reel digest (400")
2. Two parter (2 x 400")
3. Three parter (3 x 400")
4. Full feature

(note: please focus on the total length, e.g. if that is 2 x 600", so it should go to 3 x 400")

Thanks

My favorite (other wise, I wouldn't find them repeatable [Wink] )

1 - The Muppet Movie (Walton)
2 tie - Jaws (U8) & The Empire Strikes Back (Ken)
3 - Zombie (UFA)
4 - no opinion

small edit since Alan is raising the odd reel topic: the final 600ft of Star Wars is definitely one of the most repeatable titles ever...

My favourites are:

1 x 400 Easter Parade- Fred Astaire, Judy Garland
1 x 600 Once Upon a Mouse- Disney Anthology
2 x 400 The Sting - Redford and Newman
Feature Grease- glorious scope and stereo!

For me its:

1 x 400 = Silver Dream Racer (Walton Scope)
2 x 400 = L&H The Music Box (BlackHawk)
3 x 400 = Carry on Camping (Derann)
Fetaure = Close Encounters of the Third Kind

Kev.

I almost picked 'The Music Box' for the best 2 x 400 Kev, but opted for 'The Sting' as it is a superbly entertaining condensation, and great print quality as well. But for a good laugh I agree you cannot beat 'The Boys' dragging that piano up and down those california steps!

Hey Jean..
Muppet Movie and Jaws for me too!
And then certain reels....Beauty and the Beast Reel 1, Little Shop of Horrors Reel 1, and Gremlins.

A good idea would be to put a line inside the box each time a print is run.
Mine are: Gladiator Battle of Germainia 1X400ft
Made up trailer reel with Beer Fags & Women Adds 1X600
Lately the new Bond extracts 1x400ft each
I do have features, but as I have a perminant set up I often do not want to run anything longer than 1/2 hour as usually time is limited and it is not long before my wife discovers I have sneaked off when I should be doing some job on the house.

My Most Repeatable:

The Nutracker (Fantasia extract)

The rest of the Fantasia extracts are also really good, but this one is absolutely tops for me!

These are my most repeatable (not necessarily my favorites, but most well edited & enjoyed by my viewing audience):

400 foot: Take the Money and Run

2 x 400 : Jaws

3 x 400 : Ben Hur

Full Length: GREASE! Note- I only have my old flat marketing print as of now, but, this has ALWAYS been my most requested for showing, even now, with shades of pink! The movie is so full of energy and the songs never get old!

Nick.

P.S.- Jean-Marc-
When you say "Zombie", is that the same as George Romero's "Dawn of the Dead" (USA title)? If so, could you PLEASE do a review for this in the review section [Smile] [Smile] ? THANKS!

Jean-Marc,
I couldn't make any list at the moment since my films are still low. I am afraid, if I make the list it would come because that the only I had [Razz]

I infact started this topic to snipe on the possibility good titles to be in my collection.

But at least FAME (2 x 400) was only in my mind

cheers,

Winbert: hey, we all started with just a bunch of reels, so don't feel ashamed.

Nick: Yep, "Zombie" is the European cut of "Dawn of the Dead" created by Dario Argento. Shorter, faster, different soundtrack. Actually better than the original Romero US cut. I've been considering writing the review for a while... I guess I'll have to do it soon.
