A question for Eumig experts here. My lovely 810D has become noisy (clattery) when projecting at 24fps. At 18fps she is silent and sweet as a nut. I have checked, cleaned, polished and lubricated the mechanism as recommended on the Forum in the past, but the situation remains the same.

It definitely sounds as though it's emanating from the gate area.

Just wondering if I've missed anything obvious - not seeing the wood for the trees - so to speak. [Confused]

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Dave.

Have you put plenty of plastic gear grease in the groove that the feeler for the claw goes in? It is next to the shutter ring.

Hey Presto!

Thanks Tim. Problem solved! [Big Grin]

I guess I was a bit cautious about overlubrication.

I have the same problem that David had on his 810 with my S710D Eumig. I want to try the remedy that Tim suggests. Can anyone suggest a good type of plastic grease & where it is available?

I use Electrolube SPG (Special Plastics Grease) Code ESPG255L that I got from Farnell.

[Eek!] [Eek!] Bloody Hell! [Eek!] [Eek!] That done the job.

Thanks guys. I used Castrol Moly Grease, totaly safe to use on plastics.

Tim,

You had written:

I wish I was as versed in this as you are, because it is good to see it up close.

Michael
