Do the 400' versions of the Flintstones from Columbia have the original opening/ending and are they edited in any way?

No, they have a generic "Flinstones" title card, accompanied by silence, with no indication of the name of the episode. Then they go right into the show -- no "Meet the Flinstones" song (which actually didn't show up until the 3rd season). They are slightly edited to fit onto a 400 foot reel. I am basing this on the only one I own on Super 8 -- THE MONSTER FROM THE TAR PITS. That one fills up the reel to the absolute max, so it is about 22 mintues long. So there are probably 3 to 4 minutes missing. But since they did not include the opening and closing, there are probably only 2 minutes of the actual episode gone. BTW, TAR PITS is one of the all-time best Flintstones episodes -- from the very first season. My copy is now 30 years old (I am the original owner -- got it when I was a kid), and the color has held up extremely well. No hint of fade. Don't know if they are all that way, though.

I only have one episode, the "Ann Margrock" episode. Mine is also like Tony's- No opening credits, very full reel, slightly edited (my wife was upset about this- she is a big Flintstone fan and they cut out her favorite scene- where Ann Margret sings Pebbles to sleep [Mad] )

Still a good deal though, over 20 minutes running time is better than most 400 foot releases at that time.

I have one as well, and the color has held up well, as well. I can't remember the title though.
