Did any of you tried to build a halogen bulb into an editor.
I recently saw one and it really gave a great and bright image.
I would like to convert one myself, but don't know how to do it.

Try Wittners: Wittners-lamps second up from bottom of page. This is converter which takes the 6v/10w halogen lamp.
Also:
FFR-Film Goto lampen and the item is no 47010.

Yes,but then try to get the lamps.I have just secured a supplier nameley BRISTOL CINE SALES aho do actually carry stocks of the tiny 6v10w halogen lamps for my Goko motorised editor. They seem to be the only ones in th UK who sell them.Widescreen Centre have quoted three months delivery on these items at a premium of Ģ10.50 EACH PLUS POSTAGE!! Robdogs.
Bristol Cine saleas charge a mere Ģ4.99 + postage and have them on the shelf.Needless to say where my order went!

Does that include the converter for those without one or is that just the small 2 pin lamp on it's own?

Your assumption is right Kev,its just the tiny lamp.

Thanks Kevin.
Do you think it's save to use the 20W version (no. 47020)?
And once again it shows how expensive Wittner is.

Hi

I donīt understand German but i did a babel fish translation of the text and I think it is not only an adapter it is a complete halogen lamp that fits the editor

Look here at the translation:
It becomes light - in the filmbetrachter you to have a filmbetrachter, that for the use of conventional 6V/10W-Kugelkopflampen and you is not not bright the viewer picture is intended enough? No problem. Because you receive immediately with us a 6V/10W halogen bulb, which fits without adapters into the old version of your filmbetrachters. AGAIN: Now in OSRAM HLX execution! 6V/10W halogen bulb for filmbetrachter m. Ba15s-Sockel part number. 4093 - (9.92 EUR net) 11.50 EUR gross

Cheers

Hans

Even better if there is no adapter involved. I have an adapter in my Goko which accepts these small halogen bulbs. I bought my adapter years ago from the Widescreen Centre in London.

Hi

I have a GOKO MM-1 editor and I was thinking of buying the halogen bulb.
Would I notice a big difference?

Cheers

Yes you will notice a difference. The light is brighter and its a whiter light.

I would be carefull with using the 20W lamp as it does run a lot hotter and of course it draws double the current.
