Just won a copy of Derann's Peter Pan on their used list and can't wait to get it. Can someone who has a print let me know what to expect? I'm hoping it's as gorgeous as I've heard some of the Derann Disneys are.

Won? He he..you are about right on that one Brian! [Smile]
It feels that way when you get a confirmation that the film is on hold for you!
If you can check out the latest Super 8 Mag Small Format, Kev rate that print as one of his all time favorites. Up there with Jungle Book and Beauty and the Beast.

Wow... now I really can't wait to get it. Pan has been one of my favorite films since I was a kid and I've always wanted the feature on S8mm. Yes, it's funny I said "won" but it's so rare that something is still available on the Derann list when I respond, that it really does feel like I won something. I just assume everything's sold at this point to avoid disappointment!

"Won" is an interesting choice of words, but if you think about it, nobody "wins" anything on E-bay either. All you've "won" is the privilege to buy the thing!

Since many Derann lists come out around Noon US East Coast Time on Friday, I have often sent in a request for a title and wondered if I was first all weekend until Gary gets to Derann on Monday and E-mails back. It's the tension of the last minute of E-bay strung out over an entire 48 hour period!

Brian, if a little blonde 4 year old boy shows up at your door, please give me a call. It's my son and he just wants to see this movie: it's one of his favorites!

Brian, get your name on the 'smallformat' subscription list! And that goes for all of you on this forum!

Brian

I think Mr Clancy is alluding to the fact that there is a review of Deranns Pan by our very own Mr Faulkener in the latest edition of Small Format, well worth reading!

Yes it certainly is a superb print but then all the Derann Disneys are. It very difficult to single out a few titles as being the best as Derann had very good origination for all the Disneys except Mermaid.
You should find this print excellent for colour, sharpness and sound etc and lets hope the original owner looked after it well.

Kev.

I received the Peter Pan print already! It got here in one day from Derann which is incredible to me. I've watched the first reel so far and it's is a gorgeous print and there's not a line on it. It was rated A/B so I thought there may be some issues but so far it's like new. Hopefully the other two reels are the same. I can't believe I wanted so many years to buy this title! Oh well, better late than never. And what better way to celebrate my GS working again than watching a print like this!

Oh, and how do I subscribe to "Small Format?" Is it a magazine or something online...?

Brian,

Glad to see your GS is working. You can check out Small Format's site here. It really is an excellent publication.
