Hello,

I am a brand new member to the forum. I have been collecting 8mm and Super 8 movies since I was a little kid in the late 1960s. I live in Galveston, Texas on the coast of the Gulf of Mexico.

While I have a number of movie didgests from Ken, Castle, Columbia, and so forth, I am an avid collector of the more current stuff from Derann.

My interests include Disney Features, Hammer Films, and various cartoon shorts, I also have a strong interest in the Our Gang comedies.

I also collect 16mm features as well.

Cheers!

Hey Osi,

I notice you have a strong interest in optical sound features.

I do have several of those in my collection but I'm afraid that the color is turning on most.

Memories of Me with Billy Crystal seems to holding up the best.

Others I have are Dr. No, From Russia with Love, Lone Wolf McQuade, Stand and Deliver, Love at First Bite, and Gung Ho.

All, I believe, are airline prints.

Regards.

Welcome Guy to the most addictive thing on the Web, (next to collecting Super 8 that is!). As a horror fan have you seen the Red fox Version of "Poltergiest" and if so, can you give me any comments?

Welcome to the forum, Guy!

I am also a BIG Our Gang/Little Rascals fan [Smile] .

I have about 80 percent of their shorts released from 1929 to 1938 on super 8. My favorite one is "The Pooch" (1932).

Do you know if Blackhawk ever released the Our Gang short "Free Eats"? I have never seen this on a used list, and I don't remember seeing it in the old Blackhawk catalogs. This was Spanky's very first O.G. short, and very funny.

Happy Collecting!

James.

Hello James,

Yes "Free Eats" was available on super 8 from Blackhawk. I have a copy in my collection. Keep looking on Ebay.

You are right about "The Pooch." That is one of the best.

Regards.

Wow, I really had no idea that there were sooo many extant super8 prints of soooo many movies, with sound no less! I thought that most super8 enthusiasts were watching home movies, experimental film and the like. I aslo wouldn't have expected that there were so many relatively recent movies on super8. It must be a real pleasure to enjoy the color and texture of real film at home. I wonder, who is transferring these movies and at what expense? And aret here modifications made to Super8 projectors so that viewers aren't changing reels every 3 minutes?

Welcome Matthew,

Stick around and
you will see that
there is alot to find out
here.
