Can someone tell me the size and part number:

GS 1200 TAKE UP BELT

Not familiar with this machine, but I assume (like the ST1200) the take up belt runs under the carry handle linking the drive gears and clutch assembly.

I have a belt that came out of an ST1200D. This belt appears way to stretched to have been the proper one for the 1200D. Therefore, I am guessing that this belt came from the next model up, being the GS1200.

This belt will work of all places on my Towers. I tried the one I had and it was much better than the Rounthane that I am using now on the Towers.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Chip

Chip, the GS 1200 is different. There's no take-up belt inside the machine but a motor dedicated to the take-up arm. There's a belt that runs inside the arm, from the drive gear to the spool spindle.

Yes as JM states its a motor that does the drive for the take-up reels. In fact for those who don't know the GS's internals it is unique in having four motors. The main drive, the cooling fan and two take-up motors.

Kev.
