Hi All,

I just got a Blackhawk print Of Fritz Lang's Kriemildes Revenge, and it has a sound problem. The track seems to be vibrating. I have cleaned it with Filmrenew, which I generally use and works with no problem. Could this be a fault in the print or decomposing of the track over time? Any Thoughts, Would be helpful.

Thanks, Brad

Possibly your projector just doesn't like that print. Can you try it on another projector?

Hi. If the print is on acetate and badly shrunken the projector may be loosing its lower loop of film. This would cause the flutter of the sound.

Hi Brad do you have any filgaurd at all as it will do a lot more good with an old acetate print far more greasy lubey, filmrenew is good in some ways but often helps little on an old dry acetate print and does little to ease prints through.
I`d bet a current bun filmgaurd would do the trick.
Best Mark

With your Bolex, try to copy the sound from the second track of film! Then remade you the opposite and see whether the sound is better maintaining on your Elmo.

Hey All,

I have a new possibility, that it may have been a Blackhawk Answer print, that has sound issues. Some clues are a extra lable of the film printed over the old one and a little blue sticker on the side of the box. I have run a few other films since, that sound fine. Also the problem isn't through out the print, reel three, four and most of five sound great. Any one else have any similar problems especially with Blackhawk. Over all they build up most of my library, but have found other issues a long the way of collecting Blackhawk.

Brad
