Hello All, I've been checking out this forum and am impressed at the knowledge and advice given by all who respond. I am a newbie to the Super 8 scene having purchased an ELMO st1200 to view old home movies that were recently discovered.
The projector is in great nick except the belts are broken and I'm not sure what is the correct way to reinstall them.
When I opened the back only one broken belt was hanging off the pulleys.
Also, The shutter wheel currently has no belt around it and looks as though it never had one should I get one for it as well?
The projector is a st 1200 M w/no counter has 2 rubber wheels/pulleys( I assume for the 2 speeds) and a metal one coming in contact with the shutter and a 2 grooved plastic one from the motor.
Please any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Hello John and welcome. This is the right place for your informations.
No, you do not need to install a shutter wheel belt if there wasn't any previously. This particular belt was a feature of the later models such as the 1200HD and 1200HDMO.
Check seller "isellprojectorbelts" on Ebay, he's got a permanent store and he will have a set of belts for you.

You need two belts (square section):
- one for the motor, linked to the rubber rollers that activate the shutter wheel. Tricky to install, so be careful with each screw that you want to loosen.
- one for the take up arm (it runs between cogs, just under the handle).

Thanks for the info. Off to get new belts and hopefully be watching old family treasures soon.
Thanks again
