Hi

long time reader first time poster.
I recently acquired an Elmo ST1200 HD M projector which aside from some crappy belts is in great shape. My main concern here is when i first opened up the cover its seemed to be snug as i would have expected it to be (but i could be mistaken). When i went to close it, the cover wouldn't sit flush. Initially i tried to see what was obstructing it from closing properly and eventually realized it was the little Latch or "lug" (as Kevin referred to in an email he sent me) on the inside of the cover. It seems to be preventing the cover from closing all the way or flush. I'm trying to figure out if the "lug" is bent or what exactly is the hold up. I can see that the lug or latch on the inside of the cover is rubbing on the black Lamp Cover as it has rubbed of a bit of the black finish. Kevin had Suggested to me that perhapses the lamp cover was not on properly but i don't believe that is the case (but thats why I'm posting) here are some photos i took of the unit to see if anyone can identify whats going on here.

pictured here is the "Lug"/Latch in question on the inside of the cover

Hi Ryan,the latch on the cover looks like the problem,i've just checked my HD and my lug/latch isn't as bent over as yours.I'll try and load some pics of my machine...Sorry Ryan i couldn't work out how to do the pictures and explaining how it should look would be difficult,but that is the problem with your machine ...Mark

i removed the "Lug" and snapped a photo of it. Maybe someone can tell me how bent it is.

Hi Ryan,
I hope this makes sense!! If you can imagine the the top part in the picture(the bottom part being where the screw holes are)Bear with me!! If you can bend the pointed part upwards(if you think of the pointed part where it is and if it was vertical bend it in the middle of those two points and you'll be near)I hope that's of help...Mark.

The bottom bend has to be corrected.
There is a 90° bend. Then it should work.
When you mount it again, make sure that tip of leaf spring is flush with line marked in aluminium casting. If not, shift leaf spring in larger mounting holes.
For finally adjustment bend tip (carefully) into more upward direction, so that tip end is flush with moulded line (step) in aluminium part.
