Hi all,

I was given a file by Jean-Marc containing English sound from 1941 (Universal 8 digest, 2 x 400) since my reels are in German.

Now, it is hard to play both together since my projector is slowing down due to the belt. Changing the belt is not an option today.

I have a software related to DJ things that can play all sound format with pitch adjustment (similar to those available in a real turntable). So I can slow or fast the music.

But, JM's files is a movie so it cannot be opened in that DJ software UNLESS I can rip only the sound to be played as sound format.

Anybody know what is a free software to do this (ripping sound from movie format to be played on CD player)?

regards,

If it is a quicktime you can export it as a wave or aif file, but you have to have quicktime pro. If you need a (s) number email at:

But is the pitch-changing, computer-style, actually changing the speed or only the pitch? ( If you see what I mean.)

Thanks Larry, I'll see what I need here.

Steve... A today's digital Turntable is different with an analog Turntable. In an analog TT, when you change the speed, it is not only the speed is changing but also the pitch (read: key).

But in a digital TT, you can do both separately. You can change the speed without changing the pitch. In other words, the BPM is increasing/decreasing (read: music is speeding/slowing) but the voice/key does remain the same (no chipmunk voice).

I got a free software downloaded from http://www.otslab.com/

Look for "Ots Turntable". Unfortunately, I cannot find the direct link at the moment (any one can help?). It is a very small file (only 2.5 MB) but definitely good for us who is going to sync the CD and 8mm.

There are plenty of features & effects that we can play too.

But now, the main problem is how to change the movie files I have to become sound file.

cheers,
