Hi all!
I'm currently replacing both belts in an ELMO ST-800 recently acquired. The original belts have stretched and deformed to the point of being useless. They haven't turned to goo luckily. Would a member have the instructions on safely changing these?
I don't want to mess up this projector.
The original reddish dark lubricant is still very soft also, so I'm assuming I should leave this alone.
I'm impressed with the build quality of this projector and it's my first ELMO. :-)
Any and all help appreciated!
Cheers Dave

hi there,
I replaced the belts on one of these just recently & remember the steps quite well.
The motor belt is straight forward. Slip the new motor belt over the shutter pulley then stretch over the motor pulley.
The top belt looks hard but is easy enough. Use a special Toryx key tool or an Allen key to loosen the small grub screw the locks the front half of the take up reel clutch to the rear spindle shaft. Then slide the plastic clutch half off the spindle shaft. Bend the little flexible Tin friction Tag away to clear the clutch as it slides off the shaft.
This will provide you with enough gap to slide the new belt onto the top pulleys. When in place, refit the half clutch peice onto the spindle shaft and tighten again. Only slide it on as far as it was. Remove all traces of oil from the belts by spraying with an evaporative cleaner like Brake Clean.
Test for operation of all functions then refit the cover..
Thats al there is to it.
Good luck with it...
