Hello Guys,
if you don´t know where to spend your holidays, I want to invite you to Berlin.

At the end of the 90´s Berlin has been the stronghold of the Super 8 collectors in germany.
Every month we had a collectors meeting at one of the few home cinemas in town.
Unfortunately most of the collectors switched to DVD or some of them to 16mm and some few like me to 35mm.

As I had an Email conversation two weeks ago with Michael Schneider (Filmdose) we remembered these heydays of Super 8.
Spontaneously I took the initiative and asked Thomas Wind, another Super 8 collector friend, if we can meet us for a remember collector meeting. Thomas is owner of a small cinema in a bar.
The response was big by everyone, unfortunately some friends are prevented for any reason.
For example Robert Weidemann the owner of the website http://www.super-8-hobby.de/
Thomas Wind was the first and only guy I know who run periodic Super 8 prints in a small cinema as public shows.
First in his Keller Kino (basement cinema) than in Z-inema.
He played in the last years most 16mm and sometimes Super 8, unfortunately he played in the last years more and more also DVD´s.

If you are accedantally in Berlin, please visit us.
On Friday 31. July 2009 is the (only) Super 8 meeting with screening of Trailer, commercials and other short subjects.
Start 8:00 pm (20:00) in
Z-inema in the Z-Bar
Berlin Mitte
Bergstr.2
(Underground - linie 8 (Rosenthaler Platz) or S-Bahnline 1 (Nordbahnhof)

Hi,

the meeting was great fun - I didn't know that Walton released three reels of "Best of Benny-Hill". And the Bolex-advertising-reel was simply great [Smile]

BTW: There's another Super8-meeting in Germany this year, the "Cine Day 2009" on 24th of October:
