So, after shooting my first cartridge of Ektachrome during xmas, I sent the cartridge, along with another reel, to Kansas for processing and digitalizing. This being my first cartridge and first processing, I figured that I'd do a review as seen from "a beginners viewpoint".

Contact and service:
Excellent 5/5. All mails I sent were answered within hours, sometimes within minutes, and they were always very nice and helpful. This despite me being a beginner and asking stupid/obvious questions.

Shipping:
Excellent 5/5. The reel/cartridge came back to me 22 days after I sent them, but I'll count it as 19, because they spent 3 days in the somewhat retarded Norwegian customs department. All the reels and cartridges were packed very nice and safely.

Processing:
No grading, as I have nothing to compare it with. All the footage turned out really good (except for the test shoots with low light).

Digitalization:
Good 3/5. Looks beatiful, but has noticeable colour errors which are not present during projection, and the quality could have been a little better, even for a DVD. Also alot darker on the DVD.

Prices:
Excellent 5/5. Cheapest there is, 'nuff said. Considering the quality of their work, this is a steal!

Overall:
VERY GOOD 4/5

Definately using them for my future Super 8 needs!

Example videos coming soon.

9,95$ for the first 50 feet, then 5$ pr 50 foot after that.

I would check out other alternatives first tho, because I was a little unsatisfied with the result. But don't get me wrong, I'm very happy with Dwaynes in every other way [Smile]

Do they transfer to miniDV, or HD? Or is DVD the only option?

How much is shipping to Norway?

And final: how do you pay? Did you fill out that form with your creditcard number, etc? Paypal?

Thanks!

Shipping to Norway is 15 dollars.

They transfer to DVD and miniDV, but not harddrives. It's transferred at DVD quality, no matter what medium you choose, the HD version I uploaded is simply upscaled.
