Hi all, just bought one of these beauties. It worked well for about 10 minutes and then the sound went and hasn't come back. The sound crackled and then died, unfortunately electonics are not my strong point, so can anyone suggest what to try first or who could possibly help? Thanks MIKE

I would first remove the back cover and check if there are any fuses blown.

Thanks Thomas, I've tried the fuse it's ok. The machine is running fine as a silent projector - just no sound! MIKE

Hello Michael,
Noris 342 is a very nice and very quit running projector. Beside amplifier the motor control-circuit often breaks down.
Keep projector in well geased and oiled condition - of course not too much - as motor is quite strong it will hold constant speed until Motor circuit breaks down due to high current consumption. You can`t notice it during running /projection.
This happens to NORIS 342 -when not used for several years- after running 10 min to 60min in most cases.
Check that voltage selector is turned to 240V~. Do not turn selector wheel whilst connected to mains! That might destroy transformer!

Thanks Josef, I'll check the lubrcation, are there any particular points that need grease? I've checked all the internal fuses I can find (3) and they are OK. So I think there must be a component in the amplifier thats failed. MIKE

Place 2 drops of a thin oil (sewing machine oil) at each bearing of shutter shaft. Very carefully at bearing close to drive pulley, so that no oil spills will contaminate rubber belt.
Motor bearings sometimes get blocked. Rear bearing is difficult to oil due to generator connected to motor axle.

Itīs difficult to give good advice on amp failure as many different failure are noticed.
