Hi all,

I now have 3 elmo's one is a lovely ST1200 which is the M/O model and in mint condition. came with all bits n bobs with case. dint realise about the lens until reading posts here but it even has the f1.1 lens in it. looks to have never been run.

the others are a pair of Elmo ST 600's twin track machines. both in fair condition and running.

my main concern is getting these serviced and obtaining belts etc for them.

the 1200 runs well but a little sluggish turning the spools, top toothed belt looks fine and appears Ok, but the belt that runs from the motor/fan assembly around the 3-4 wheels appears too slack, there is also a tension spring that seems a lttitle ineffective, but this could be due to the slack belt allowing the whole assmembly to hang slack. runs better at one speed than it does at the other. a little light pressure on the speed switch lever makes thing run better but not perfect.

the 600's ( which will be back up machines) seem to run fine, have been used but not abused and are missing their belts.

so firstly does anyone recommend someone in the U.K. where i can get belts for the projectors, along with a spare bulb or 2.

these I feel quite happy to fit to the 600's not so sure on the 1200.

after taking care of this and giving them a nice clean, would like to know who you guys recommend for servicing and repairs please.

I think that they deserve to be checked over before regular use, the 1200 at least.

Im in Kent, so would prefer someone in the south east as i would feel safer dropping them off and collecting.

thanks in advance, Paul.

There is only one person I'd use for my Elmos, and that is Bill Parsons. He always does outstandingly fine work on these machines, adding decades more life into each one he services. Bill is a member of this forum, so I'm sure you could contact him via this...or his details appear on the BFCC (www.bfcc.biz) website...somewhere.

Simon, Doug

thanks guys. have spoken with Bill. what a nice guy.

He has agreed to take a look and give the machines a once over, service & belts etc.

lets hope they are all as good as they appear.

I will happily let Bill do whatever he thinks is best for them.

got a couple of films to run on them now so cant wait.

Paul.

If Bill is looking at them, even if they are in worse condition than they appear to be, you can be confident that they will be running well soon!
