This looks unbelieveable...wish I had the bucks to buy. But then would I use it?

Yikes!

It's the Holy Grail!

I don't think it will not work right of the box: the belts will be shot and the switch contacts oxidized, but the idea of everything being completely unworn is awesome! Given some new belts and some patience this will be a great machine.

I think most of us will enjoy this one just by watching the auction. I'd be hard pressed to fork over this kind of cash for another machine and have any right to ask my wife to be thrifty.

Any bets what price it reaches? I say £2,000.00.

Somebody who has the money would be smart to grab the buy it now and take the opportunity. One like it may never come again!

I have a feeling once it's bid up to the reserve "Buy it Now" will go away.

Somewhere in the world some man is saying to his wife "Orthodonture?! his teeth have...(?)...character like this! Besides, he can get braces anytime: look at this machine!"

I agree it will probably need a service straight out of the box due to 'standing' for so many years but WOW...imagine if somewhere there is a warehouse full of boxed super 8 goodies all brand new, never opened, never used.....oh my....I better sit down.....

I have an Elmo GS that has only about 50 hours on it. It still has the original bulb. I am the original owner and to tell the truth, it has always been such a hassle to lift up (40lbs), I always reached for the Eumig.

Same thing here, I have 2 GS1200, 2 ST1200 and one GS800, but always reached Chinon 330MV for my personal show [Wink]

£1,500 could be considered a bargain, in view of it being less than the price of one when they were last sold new around 1988. I think it's possible that it might be OK right away, particularly if the original cellophane has prevented any drying out. A few years ago, I bought a new old stock Eiki from about 1986, still in the original wrapping, and the belts, etc, worked perfectly.

It's interesting how with GSs that there were small variations in the accessories supplied with projectors. This one doesn't appear to have the test film and a connecting lead that I'm sure was frequently supplied, but it has a microphone blimp that I don't think was always provided.
