Hi,

my "Porst Filmbetrachter 15" behaves like the batteries are close to empty when advancing the film via the motorised transport. However the batteries are fresh, the contacts are clear, the mechanic isn't stiff when operated manually, ...
.. any ideas? [Confused]

Take a voltage check on the batteries even though they are fresh.

Even better: look at the voltage on the motor (if you can get to it, of course.), then work your way out to the batteries if it's wrong.

slight sidetrack; but are these any good? - As a kid in the early 70s I remember seeing hand cranked versions that relied on a mirror for illumination - ie no batteries at all. I tend to look back on my youth with rose tinted (National Health Service) glasses but even with this bias I thought that handviewers were junk so I'm intrigued to see one that looks quite well made,
