I recently bought a very bright LED Lenser CREE 80 lumen high performance tourch. Some of the more expensive LED Lenser CREE Chip Technology tourches put out an impressive 220 lumen from a single CREE LED.

I took the lamp out of my Beauelieu 708 and shone the tourch inplace of the lamp and got a dim but viewable picture with this little 80 lumen tourch.

This has made me think about hacking up one of Maplin's Preva Arc LED Disco lights at £49.99 for the power supply and LED light, They say that the LED light output is comparable to the 250w 24v projection lamp.
