I just picked up a Heurtier P6 24 machine with a sound reader and amplifier base. I have read here on this forum repeatedly that this machine is no good for regular 8 sound, while it is perfect for super 8 sound. My experience has shown that with regular 8 sound this machine is in perfect sync, while with super 8 the sound is not at all in sync! Why does everyone keep talking this nonsense about this machine. One fast look at a P6 24 will tell you the sound reader is too far away to play super 8 in sync since it requires an 18 frame advance. But the Heurtier P6 24 is in fact set exactly at 56 frames in advance, which is what regular 8mm requires in the first place.

You're right, Antione, the picture is not super bright. But you sure have to admire the superb quality and tank-like construction.

It is actually the ideal standard 8mm sound projector since it has interchangeable gates and sprockets, depending on which type of film you use. Of course one drawback is that it is real monster in size and weight! That amplifier puts out some serious bass sound too. Not to mention, that it's belt is a dream to change. I leave mine set on standard 8mm.
