Thirty Two years ago I had to part company with a very rare std
8mm colour copy of the feature "The Corpse" with Michael Gough.
Seen it advertised on ebay and am now reunited, should I have
a wake to celebrate.

Yes I think you should
I used to own a very dupey standard 8 mm B/W print of this too, great little horror movie and a real rarity these days!

So nice to have an old friend back again Hugh.

What a great movie to show for Halloween!
I'm always looking for new films for Halloween; my copies of Tom & Jerry's "The Flying Sorceress" & John Carpenter's "The Fog" went down well the first 8 years or so...
I still love 'em, but I think they're wearing a bit thin with my "audience"!
I tried this "modern rubbish" over the last few years...ran the re-make of "The Omen" one year...oh, so baddd
Give a classic Hammer any day, or "The Corpse"!!

Hugh. Of course we could send Bela Lugosi round with a set of electrodes to re energise!

Lee, some re energising from Bela would be very welcome, I think
age is creeping up.

Hugh - Very interested to hear of your print. I'm fortunate enough to own a pretty good copy on 16mm, but it was an interesting choice for 8mm release. I wondered if it was a Derann release and whether it was full length? And was it on Super 8 too? And were there colour prints on either guage?
Posted by Hugh Thompson Scott (Member # 2922) on October 19, 2012, 03:15 PM:
Hi Adrian, yes it was on both gauges,I've got a copy on s/8 but
the colour is very faded.Itis a bit of an oddball film, like an
experimental job.Strange though it seems, the very same copy
I parted with on std 8, is the same one I just picked up, the only
reason I sold it in the first place was because I had left home and
was trying to furnish a little gaff of my own, would you believe I
sold it and a bunch of others, including Jess Franco's "Demon
Doctor" 5x400 for £7.00 each! Such is life.I have managed over
the years to get the colour versions on std8mm of a few DFS
hire features, I think "The Corpse" was one of them.I think there
is a scene missing from the edit involving Michael Gough's
chum from the Golf club being paid off for his daughters theft.
