This thing's driving me crazy cause it almost works but not quite...

Registration a little shaky through gate. Film gets "stuck" from tight pull on the take-up, I think caused by something wrong with the way the film is traveling through the projector.

Something's out of whack in the film path I think but don't know what.

Obviously this projector's not the greatest but I'd like to get it in shape for someone else to use if possible before donating it.

The lens & motor are nice.

I think there are some washers missing from the workings of the take-up arm causing tension problems--

Can anyone tell me what the inside of the take-up arm is supposed to look like on a working 468A? Mine has three interlocked gears, no washers.

Many thanks.

Anyone parting out a 468A who would sell me a take-up spindle? I think that may be the problem.

Or any similar model? Projector runs perfect without using take-up arm. 456A looks like it's probably the same type.

Zach,

I have one of these. I'm unsure about what could be wrong with yours, the one I have is like new in. Last time I checked it tough, it also had some drag on the take up reel but the film passed fine through the gate. I only used it once -- send me a PM if you're interested in it.

In this case I'm just looking to resurrect a projector someone gave me. I'm about to move and I'm making a last effort to repair the broken things in my life before ditching them.

The spindle is a little warped and it seems as if it may be a little loose as well. I've tried to straighten it out but it doesn't seem to be working.

I switched out spindles but now the issue is that the take-up spindle pops out a bit when engaged which cuts tension completely on the gears so that the take-up ceases turning.

I think there may be a spring inside the spindle end? Has anyone opened one of these up? Just want to figure this out.

PS Gerald I'm still interested in yours but I also would like to fix this one if possible. Thanks!
