I happened to sniped out both 400ft reels with original box and in good colors. :

1. Led Zeppelin - The song remins the same 1 x 400 ft.
2. Texas Chainsaw Masscare digest 1 X 400 ft. (Slough film labs).

Bought each @40UKP.
Are they rare in nowadays market?
PS: I do have the full feature of TCM so an digest is just as I like this film and Led Zeppelin 9should I say more) [Big Grin]

It is always difficult to know the "good price" for items that are not currently aviable and for which you have a lot of competition. A film can be seen as easy to find but you may not see it on sale for a while. On the opposite a rare film can be found quickly. It is a question of luck. Personnaly, I wouldn't call a 120 metres film at around 46 euros a bargain (but I admit that I don't know if they are rare or not) but it is not also overpriced comparing with what I have seen. But isn't the most important that you're happy with your films and that you can keep them for many years ? Comparing with what people are ready to pay for a night in a hotel or a dinner in a restaurant, then it is a bargain [Wink]

An item is only worth what someone is prepared to pay for it, but as Dominique says if you are happy with the price you paid you will be able to keep the films for many years and eventually the price you paid is irrelevant.

I’m with Maurice. Its pretty much the case that if you want it enough then it is worth the price also added to this the enjoyment it will bring to you over time. The only real down side is spending heavily on short films then one day you run it and the colour has gone pink so the resale will be minimal. You will however hopefully have had lots of pleasure from the film prior to this so nothing lost. [Smile]

Both the films you have Moshe are sought after. I used to have
the Led Zep film in digest and complete 16mm, but sold 'em.
What Maurice,
Lee and Dominique are saying is true, if you are happy with
what you paid, which seems reasonable, you've nailed a good deal.

Moshe, there is no link with the topic, but I saw like an hour ago three film for sale on a small flea market in Jerusalem. Another thing thas has no link, there was a restaurant in Tel Aviv (was it on Ben Yehuda street ?) where they displayed super 8 projectors. It seems that they closed. A last thing out of the subject, what is the translation of the word "bas" (it is a kind of fish) ? I asked several people but no one could translate. [Smile]

As for Tel Aviv resturant that project films, i recall the long closed CatBalu they had they Catfish dish i liked a lot.

That's why I talked about the flea market in Jerusalem I went to today. I have no idea of the name of the restaurant. It was a small one, I don't think they projected films but there was someone there who was a cine enthusiast and collected projectors he displayed in the restaurant. What about the fish they call "bas" in hebrew ? Do you know the translation in English ?

Regarding the price paid, I think it comes down to condition and colour. You mention the colour is "good", which is a very subjective term! It could mean that you have rare low-fade prints with no fade whatsoever, but collectors sometimes say good in relation to a film which shows fade, but they feel the degree of fade isn't too bad. If it's the latter, I'd say the price was a bit on the high side so not a bargain, but they are not films you will see offered every day so as others have said, the main thing is that you're happy with them. Of course many digests seem to go for much higher prices now than a few years ago, so that needs to be taken into account.

Is the TCSM the Iver 400ft or the Derann version? The Iver version was longer and included all the main murders where as the Derann version Left out the first two?

Hi Tom,

Its the Iver 400ft print' the same as my FULL Texas chainsaw massacre complete feature from Iver (that you told me about few weeks ago) - same leaders.

Great Colors left but not so vivid as the original 16mm negative output were pale too.
