Hi Just got my GS out ready to use again. I forgot the last time it was serviced the take-up tension was set too high.

I have forgot where you change the tension of take-up motor. I'm sure the last time I just alter a variable resitor, but I've forgot where and which it is.

Hi David. Scraping the brain cells here a bit as some time since I have adjusted it but I think you will find it is the top pot on the little vertical circuit board which will have either 2 or 3 small pots. Take your time and always leave a little dot with a small marker pen before doing so you can see where you have moved it from. Happy days!

I recall there's 3 on the board Lee mentions and I'm sure it's not the middle one! These pots were discussed on one or two threads from several years ago, so some searches with appropriate words might bring this to light.

Thanks for that info. The pots are they the ones at the side of the feed motor?

I must admit to not using my projectors for a while, plus I used the Spondon Reel Extender most of the time.

It was always the same when either C.Z. Scientific the old service agents or before Hanimex shut their service that the take-up was full on.

Had to bring the Fumeo 9139 in to service.

Fix now. A little board at the side of the feed motor is the one I needed. My GS only has two variable pots and its the top one.

It needed turning back quite a lot too.

Many thanks.

Now I have a problem with the magnetic sound. I think it could be the mag/opt switch it makes a very loud noise through the amp, and there is almost no sound. The amps is working OK when the loop is lost you get full sound, but of course with all the loss of loop noise.

Anyone had this before? I would suspect the switch contacts are oxidised.
