In a recent purchase were 10 Techno clam shell cases of UFO. I understand that the TV series had 50 minute episodes.

Would any collector of this series on Super 8 kindly give me some information.

These are the 400' films:-

#200 Exposed part 1
#200 Exposed part 1
#200 Exposed part 2
#200 Exposed part 3
#101 Identified (no part quoted)
#201 Identified part 3
#202 Cat With Ten Lives (no part quoted)
#203 Psychobombs (no part quoted)
#204 Timelash (nom part quoted)
#205 Survival (no part quoted)

Have I parts missing, or are the films without a part number complete within themselves, i.e. a cut-down?

I have a couple of the UFO series. One is 3x400ft and the other is 400ft I'll find the cases and see what numbers they have.

I don't have any of them so I won't bother looking! [Eek!]

Maurice,

As you suspected, UFO was released as both full episodes and cutdowns. I'm not sure if each title was made available as both.

I have two of the 400' digests:

100 Exposed
202 Cat With Ten Lives

These two aren't particularly well edited.

Here's a link to an earlier thread.

Many thanks, Doug.

It is doubtful that an earlier purchaser would have bought incomplete parts, and even bought two of the same. Unfortunately. it's now not possible to find an answer.

In due course, I'll run everything, and see what makes sense, and probably ditch what's no good to keep.

Morning from New Zealand,
hopefully ditching meant sell them and not dump them?
Personally even incomplete episodes are better than none at all especially when some super8's are getting harder to find [Frown]

Maurice,

Exposed and Identified were indeed complete episodes (3x400'), but in my case reels 1 & 2 of Exposed were out of sync (reel 1 was wildly out) and I had to get Ian at Perry's to re-sync them for me.

I think there were about another 3 or so titles, let's see what I can remember:- "Pyschobombs" - "The Cat With Ten Lives" - "Survival" & "Timelash" I believe were the other Techno digest episodes.

Barry,
So, the cases with numbers on are 3-part titles, i.e., virtually complete; and the parts with no part numbers on them are edited?

Maurice,

As far as I can remember, yes. They only bought out the first two episodes complete, the rest were edited (some better than others!).

Quite a few nice titles with good looking artwork. I checked one of mine the 400ft its just in a generic box title 'Identified' The other is 'Exposed' 3x400ft Can't find any boxes for it though.

For some reason the link in the other thread post doesn't work this UFO should take you to the 8mm page. There's some good information there.

Maurice did you films come in there proper cases?

David
Yes. All in original Tecno clam cases.

They certainly sell for relatively high prices, even though I presume all have some fade nowadays. I've wondered if the two 3 x 400' episodes are completely uncut, as I recall reading somewhere that the first episode has a mildly revealing sequence in which a female character is getting undressed, and this is certainly NOT in my print!
