Hi guys,

I wonder if anyone can give me some advice - I've got an agfa sonector LS2 - that I use occasionally -as I don't like to disrupt my permanent set-up. I used the agfa this evening in the kitchen to watch a cartoon reel and half-way through the sound went off - I know it's not the film - all the registering lights went off - I've checked the fuse and I can't see that that's an issue - any suggestions guys -I know I only use it as a spare - but I would still like to use it every now and then.

Cheers,

Dave Skillern

Check for loose plugs in their sockets on tag boards, also dry joints could be a problem.

Some wires usually connect via a plug and socket, others connect using soldered pins on tag-boards.

The pins on plugs often become oxidised over time making a poor electrical connection.

Dry joints are where the solder has dried out. These can be very difficult to find, often a gentle "poke" with a small insulated screwdriver may reveal such a joint. The only way to correct dry joints is to partially remove the solder and remake the joint using a soldering iron.
