In my recent large acquisition I have a number of scope cartoons but no provisions for showing scope on Super 8. I have a Sankor 16F which I use on several of my 16mm Elfs which have a lift-up scope bracket.

So I found FFR-Film Filmtechnik in Germany who supply a scope bracket which fits the Elmo ST1200 and GS1200 models. They offer various sizes which I assume fit most scope lenses. My Sankor is a 43mm.

I ordered the required size and the total UK price via Paypal was £75.81. The bracket arrived in about three weeks and I can say that I am highly delighted with it.

It fixes to the Elmo with a supplied brass 4mm knurled head screw, this goes into the tapped hole on the front of the projector. The bracket is right-angled, this is covered in a felt like material so as not to damage the projector. It fits very well, the lens being secured by a further brass screw.

Brackets can also be supplied for the 16mm Bauer P6-P8, Bauer Super 8 models 502-610, Beaulieu 708 and the Braun Visacustic 1000 & 2000. For projectors not mentioned a universal bracket can be supplied.

Ralf Wornast speaks English so emails can be sent without resorting to the aid of Google Tramslate,

Highly recommended.

FFR Filmtechnik as Maurice points out, do indeed provide us all with some excellent products and services for our 8mm & 16mm machines.

I have even sent my Bauer T610 to them several years ago for a claw and cam replacement as they will not sell you these parts, only provide the service themselves.

I would like to get a scope bracket myself one day for my Beaulieu to take the Kowa 8Z lens. It comes with one already which I use the different sized barreled Proskar lens to fit the existing bracket, but would love to try the Kowa on it when I have the spare funds to order one of their excellent brackets.

Like Wittners, they are not cheap, but the goods they sell are top quality.

I quite recently bought the Wittner equivalent to use with my GS so I hope I'm equally happy when I get round to trying it! For some reason the scope brackets on the Wittner site don't currently show any Elmo ones, so I don't know what the situation is there.

You're luckier than I, Maurice. I bought a scope bracket from Wittner for my Beaulieu. The bracket fits perfectly the projector but is too large for the two (different sized) scope lenses I have. So I will have to invest in a third one or find a kind of adaptator.

Dominique
Measure your lens O/D on its end, and then see if the FFR site has the same size. It lists six different sizes for a Beaulieu.

What size diameter is the bracket you have Dominique? Maybe it would fit my Kowa 8z to the Beaulieu if it incorporates the hotshoe? It should have come with a hotshoe adapter if it was specifically made for a Beaulieu. Let me know please Dominique or better still post a photograph of it on here if you are able to do so.

As I remember it is for a 67 mm lens. I am abroad until the the 29th August,.

I purchased a bracket for my Beaulieu from FFR for my Rectimascope. Unfortunately when the scope lens was in place it could never get close enough to the main lens to get a proper picture.
So they exchanged it for a bracket that fits the Kowa 8Z and that works wonderfully.
Great company!

Ok thanks for that Dominique, I will catch up with you over the bracket once you are back home.

Rik, Do you happen to know what size the rear barrel diameter is on the Kowa? I can't be bothered digging my vernier caliper out of the shed unless absolutely necessary. Also Rik, does yours have the cut out in the bracket to clear the body of the projector near the shoe adapter?

Hi Dominique,

Could you please post a photo of your Wittner adapter for the Bealieu 708?
I ordered it from FFR but I need another one and would like to see this one.

Thanks,
Flavio

Speaking on the 'phone to a fellow member about my new bracket, he mentioned that it will also fit on an Elmo ST800, I said I didn't have the model but I did have a GS800. He said it would fit on that also, I tried it and I can report that it fits perfectly.

I then checked my ST600. It has a fixing hole, however, there is a black rubber blanking piece which does slightly obstruct, not allowing the bracket to sit tight along its full length. I think it would be OK, but perhaps there might be trouble with overall focus.

I will try it one day.

The rear diameter on the Kowa 8z/16H is 52mm. If you have the Bell and Howell 2x it is a 54mm.
My adaptor does have the little cut out so it fits into the bracket.

Thanks for that Rik.

Flavio, I have just tried. I took a picture with my mobile phone on the cam st at the lowest quality (as you cannot upload a big size picture). Even that was not accepted by the site !

As stated previously, let me know if this bracket doesn't work out for Flavio, Dominique.

If not, I am interested for the Kowa 8z on the Beaulieu. To check it is the right one you could just send me a PM and then send me whatever sized photo you like by e mail Dominique.
