So what Christmas movies are you watching this year? In addition to the usual favourites such as Christmas Carol and White Christmas we shall be watching some lesser known but wonderful Dhristmas films such as :

The Bishop's Wife Charming and inspiring film with Cary Grant, David Niven, and Loretta young

Christmas in Connecticut A great Christmas comedy with Barbara Stanwyck, Dennis Morgan ,and the inimitable Sydney Greenstreet

It Happened On 5th Avenue Wonderful heart warming comedy with the scene stealing Victor Moore

Holiday Affair Great Christmas romance with Robert Mitchum and the voluptuous Janet Leigh

The Man Who Stole Christmas based on the life of toy maker A.C. Gilbert, who invented the Erector Set.

The Holiday Christmas romance in L.A. and a UK village, with Kate Winslet, Jude Law, and Jack Black.

Hi Paul,
Well last night (20th Dec) I watched a tv screening of Scrooge the musical with Albert Finney - a real favourite of mine - my wife also likes " The Bishops Wife" which is on on BBC 2 early morning on the 22nd Dec. But I will be watching some super 8 over the festive season - Alistair Sim in Scrooge, Don Bluth's "Small One", Derann's release of Gremlins and my copy of Its a Wonderful Life - I will also screen Mary Poppins, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, High Society, The Glenn Miller Story and The Sound of Music (the full print) - that should keep me going for a few days.

Last night I watched The Santa Claus (1994) with Tim Allen. I include other pictures in my holiday viewing...Love Actually (2003), While You Were Sleeping (1995), Die Hard (1988), Elf (2003), The Family Man (2000) with Nicholas Cage, and Scrooged (1988) with Bill Murray [Smile]

I will be watching my 16mm print of Parade of the Wooden Soldiers (1934) with my son when he arrives [Smile]

I picked up a 16mm print of It's a Wonderful Life ...but probably won't get it in time to screen it until after Xmas [Frown]

I've been watching and will be watching 'Scrooge', 'National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation', Die Hard', 'It's a Wonderful Life' and 'Gremlins' to name a few on blu ray. On film, I shall watch 'Peace on Earth', Tom and Jerry's 'The Night Before Christmas' and Dylan Thomas' A Child's Christmas in Wales.

I put my recently acquired super 8 feature of Scrooge on two nights ago and I really enjoyed it especially for watching it so close to Christmas.

Then last night I was truly privileged by wife's suggestion to put "Its a Wonderful life" on DVD on the 10' screen. Again, truly fantastic after not seeing it for the last few years.

She would never watch anything on Super 8 or any other film format for that matter in the home, so I felt truly honoured watching an old B/W movie in her company even if in digital!

That is as good as it gets as joint interest in our house! Ha ha

Do you have any prints that kind of occupy shelf space but you don't think about very much?

I recently remembered I have "March of the Wooden Soldiers" feature length and I want to get in on screen by New Year's.

We recently watched "The Small One" and "Madagascar Penguins in a Christmas Caper" is on the docket too!

Then again there is the Christmas movie I filmed myself back during my college years. My wife and son are still years and decades away, but Dad is there.

Looking after the grandkids on Christmas eve so I was thinking of putting on "Santa Clause The Movie" on the VP, that's the one with Dudley Moore, John Lithgow and David Huddleston as Santa.

Although this movie was made way back in 1985 I have always enjoyed this particular version.

I do hope to run some Super8 later on over Christmas with "Its A Wonderful Life" and the Derann print of "The Snowman"..

This year "White Christmas", "The Holiday", and "Four Christmases"; all on dvd.

Planning to watch "Mickey's Christmas Carol" on Super 8 as well as a few other cartoons "Peace on Earth" and "The Little Match Girl"; easily two of the most sentimental cartoons ever made.

Mickeys Christmas Carol, one of the best xmas films ever,
The Snowman, stereo copy,
Tom & Jerry The night before xmas,
The 200ft scope extract from Scrooge, Thank you very much number,
Peace on Earth,
Goodwill to Men Scope,
Trailers to Elf in scope and Miracle on 34th Street remake.
And Tonight we have the 400 foot A Disney Christmas.

The one I am trying hard to obtain,(and a good copy only) is Pluto's Christmas Tree, I missed it again off Ians List, Grrrr

In recent weeks I have watched all that you mentioned Tom, aside from the trailers, on S8, as well as The Little Match Girl and Pluto,s Christmas Tree and the full length version of The Small One and to finish Madagascar....

There is one advertised on Phil's list. In fact there are two but one of them he grades as only B quality, the other is supposed to be A1 at £12. Have you gone down that route yet Tom?

In the Christmas related films category, I will screen The Night Before Christmas (T&J), Pluto's Christmas Tree and The Case Of The Christmas Pudding. I haven't decides, yet what else will be projected.

It's a two day event.
