Yeah, Fish Called Wanda just started right now on ITV!

Not seen this on TV for years!
Love my S8 feature of this. Must give it an airing soon, long time no see and still has great colour for an optical sound film.

One of my favourites, Andrew! It is still a very funny film. I have had it on vhs, dvd and now blu-ray.
Was the feature only ever released on super8 optical? I was also wondering if anyone ever released the trailer?

Optical only Johnathan I'm afraid, but watching it again, full length it would appear..at least so far anyhow.

No "f" words in the family friendly airline version of course, I just noticed. Ha ha.
plus no adverts every 20 minutes on 8!!

Croc Dundee also available on optical. Another classic from that same era.

I've never seen a trailer for this on 8, but that's not to say one doesn't exist. I never cease to be amazed what S8 trailers are out there!

There seem to be a fair few of crocodile Dundee about on optical but I nearly bought a print 11 years ago was already on the go colour wise.

I could never work out why they were not on LPP post 1982. Its also such a shame to think that 100 copies of so many superb 80,s films were all put in a skip and burned, painful thought.

Best Mark.

I've got an optical copy of A Fish Called Wanda - and although it is a family friendly version - it's still a great comedy film. The print is is excellent condition as well.

Yes so is mine David, its in lovely condition considering I do not trust any ST as far as I can throw them in terms of random scratching, a minor miracle has took place so far with this film of mine.

It's a real favourite of mine from the optical range I have.

My Crocodile Dundee, while not being perfect for colour, isn't bad at all! These tend not to go red, more browny orange for some reason. I have two sets of prints but none are perfect at the opening scene which for some reason starts off leterboxed???

All well looked after prints tend to still have quite a few black lines at the opening in exactly the same manner on both prints so maybe the negative they came from wasn't perfect.

Sometimes, as in this case, a film is so enjoyable, it doesn't really matter to me if the print isn't LPP so long as it still has good colour. These two and one or two other top optical titles are still very desirable features to somebody like me to collect.

I wouldn't mind a print of "wanda" someday. I happen to have "Croc", and though there's the slightest color shift, (you only notice it in the night scenes, otherwise, a very good print.

One thing that always got me about this print, are the titles in scope, but it's an incredibly letterboxed scope, almost like the laserdisc on Ben Hur, which had a very wide image.
