Looking back over the forum archives, I found the post showing how to oil a bolex camera. I read it a few times, decided to try it out on my P1 camera. It worked wonders, my camera sounds like new, is easier to wind, and sweet to liston too when running. However there is one snag, I later found a small V shaped spring lying on the inside of the camera body, near to what appears to be a rubber based roller at the end of the film gate. I have checked the post again (posted 1st May 2010), but there is no mention of this spring. Please can someone tell me how to install this. Many thanks in advance.

I think I know exactly which spring you are talking about. You will need to take the plastic part out of the film chamber again to install it. It fits through a slot in the plastic so half of it is inside and the other half is outside. The half that is outside has a bend on the end that comes to a point. It acts as a ratchet to prevent the rubber wheel from rotating the wrong way. Some cameras have this and others don't. The rubber wheel doesn't rotate on the models that don't have it.

Bryan. Sorry for the late reply. Many thanks for the info and in particular for the photo. I have now seen what your photo shows, and will now try to replace it in the slot. Regards john
