Hi,

Has anyone been using these long life lamps, and can anyone tell me if they really last 1500 hours, are they worth the extra money.

Read Bart Smith's thoughts on these lamps.

They are probably for disco use where long life is useful. They may not have the correct colour temperature for film projection.

As Blue Cine-Tech and Maurice quite rightly points out here, anything other than a Xenophot lamp made by Osram with Xenon filler gas, is a complete compromise for Super 8mm projection purposes.

At around £5 per lamp for 50hrs, it just isn't worth trying to seek any other cheaper or longer lasting alternative in my book.
