Not too long ago I finally obtained a GS-1200 [Smile]

I have long been a Eumig fan. I think I have grown fonder of both projectors. I can see why people love these Elmos, with a great image, relatively quiet operation, great sound, and presice focus. However, I appreciate the simple, hassle free use my Eumig 810 has offered for years.
Anyways, this projector is in mint condition and came with all the original packing and accessories. The only thing I had to do is change a take up arm gear. The only other "issue" I've had is I keep loosing the loop between the lens and the sound head. Of course I lose it to the top and it chatters against the top film guide. I reset the loop and sometimes it goes for a little while and sometimes it looses it right away again. If I clean the film with Filmrenew it will project fine. However, it is REALLY sensitive. I have had nice clean films and it still loses that loop. Is there anything that can be adjusted?

It's mainly due to inherent design factors on these models Zech, but it's all to do with correct tensions and matched feed rates(to a lesser extent than other models) throughout the drive path, all of which can be calibrated to correct torque values etc, but equally, all have to be carried out in a scientific precise manner with the correct equipment to have any chance of getting it spot on, I'd say.

Speak to someone like Ugo Grasso or Bill Parsons on all of this. There is nothing they don't know surrounding your highly common complaints experienced here regarding these.

An old coworker of mine called these things "FM"

-not "Frequency Modulation"

(He learned electronics in the Marine Corps: the vernacular is a lot more...to the point than what they teach in Engineering School!)

I do most of my fixing and servicing these days in the summer months out in my yard.

You can't beat stark sunny daylight conditions for seeing these things in close detail.

Summer for servicing and fixing, Winter for watching and enjoying!
