Phil, I appreciate your effort.

Nothing show up in my compi.

Just my 2 cents suggestion, you can drop such files on google drive and it can be stored for ever without any disturbing adverts.

cheers,

Than you Phil for sharing the catalog.
As a new c ollector, I never had the privilege to buy a new film from Derann but its amazing seeing some of the titles I now own in the catalog. I could only imagine how exciting it would have been buying a new print and projecting it at home for the first time.

Just a few observations...

On page 21, there is an ad for "The Snowman" that states "this film will be much sought after collectors item in years to come". Well 29 years later, I think that has come true.

On page 37, there is an ad for a 20th century fox cinemascope logo 1x50(2 logos on one spool). How cool is that! I guess the reason why I have never seen one of these for sale is that they have all been spliced onto different scope prints.

On page 42, they have an ad for a Derann sweatshirt, tie, and badge. I thought that was pretty neat. I`ve seen 50th anniversary Elmo cuff links and tie pins from the 1970s for sale here in Japan.

Phil,

I recently aquired a 8mm print of "The Snowman" and i enjoyed it very much. I`m looking forward to having a Christmas film show and inviting over some friends.

I did not download the 90 Catalogue yet. I will download it now.

Hi Jason,

Due to Scanner and Mail capacity , I have limited Quality to 200DPI.

As possible, I ll try to upgrade up to 600DPI, however the expected size file should be something around 30MO instead of 5MO

Thanks Phil!

There is something so delightfully lurid about an old film catalog: the big pictures, the bright colors. It makes the heart beat just a little faster!

-something we lost even when Derann still had a website!

Hi Steve,

The Scan is "medium" quality (200 DPI) due to a tight capacity of the machine.
So this is not enough to make a print out otherwise this is a pretty good backup.
I ll try to upgrade up to 600 DPI once I find the best solution.

Moreover, I have an other DERANN CATALOGUE (Introducing "Little Marmaid" issue) to scan in an other job.

These Catalogues are "The" Reference to check what Derann produced and the prices on the 80's period....

It's a great early "renaissance" period catalogue is that one Phil.

By the time the Fox, Rank and Disney deals were added, the catalogues that followed not too many years later, were twice as thick at least to even what this catalogue has to offer!

The one with The Little Mermaid and Snow White on their front covers were two of my own personal favourites.

These were both brimming with new features from the same era as well as having many still available from the Red Fox and Kempski archive.

Just fantastic!!😊😊😊

Phil, I was 16 in 1987 and still have that very catalogue.

Gremlins for Christmas...wow! (the film, thank goodness, not the actual...)

Such amazing and happy times. Difficult to explain in many ways now I suppose, but for those of us there at the time... [Smile]

Just great times with only terrible quality VHS to compete. [Wink]

Got it,( & the other one), [Wink]
Many thanks for this Phil.

Thanks, I now have them both. I thought I had this one as some of the pages look very familiar, but perhaps they were reprinted in the newsletters.

If you are doing the Little Mermaid one (I think it is 1992) I will scan and put up as a picture the 1992 price code conversion sheet (A was £8.99 - NN £499.99) to go with it as I still have it in my copy.

Nice one Brian!

I may well scan a few of my own soon for all, including the Mermaid edition! The dawning of the Disney feature! Pure Gold. [Wink]

It mattered not whether VHS then, or 10k as we now have Rob. It wasn't film then and it still isnt now buddy!
