Hello there!

Can anyone give me some advice about the Silma Delta super 8 projector line (i.p. the delta 5)? I have the oppurtunity to buy one for not much money, but would be happy if somebody could tell me something more about this machine(s) [Smile]

All the best,

Nick

Silma made certain lower range models for Bauer, Nick.
They were an Italian manufacturer and many of their designs not surprisingly mirror those of the entire Bauer range in certain aspects.

The Silma Delta 5 is a duo play model and looks quite a nice relatively basic machine.
Probably little in the way of support now though given these were some of the rarer models of cine projector that were ever built.

For any working model for little money now, as with any other machine that is kind to film, I'd say you have little to lose by buying it if it looks and works ok right now.

Hi, I have Silma Delta 3, and are like the bauer T170 sound models.

Is a low range machine, but easy to maintance and if works well you will have machine for years.

Only be sure that accepts well the 180m of the reel, because some bauer, silma models had trouble with the clutch. Some sellers think that if a machine lights or move the reels is 100% in function and not ever is true.

Be sure that the machine works and sound well.

Regards, Arturo.

Bauer bought out Silma and used the factory for production of projectors still under the name of Silma but were originally Bauer designs.
