I've drawn the recent Christmas Quiz, the winners will be listed below, but I thought I'd have a few words (again!) about the number of entries. I had only 24 entries, much lower than last time, which of course is very disappointing, especially as I made the quiz very simple again, oh well! what more can I do!

The 24 entries generated a prize pot of £24, I've split it into 3 prizes of £10, £8 & £6.

First Prize of £10 CREDIT was won by Mark Barton

Second Prize of £8 CREDIT was won by Vidar Olavesen

Third Prize of £6 CREDIT was won by Tom Smith

Congratulations to those 3 winners.

I was just too busy in the run-up to Christmas to even look at the quiz, Barry.

Brian,

Yes Christmas is a busy time, and I understand that, but it was sent out in November, and had a closing date of Dec 31st, I was hoping for a little better response, considering how easy the question were!

I share your same disappointments at times Barry, regarding input nowadays on the forums in general.

Lots and lots of members and stalkers, very very few with any input whatsoever, however for the most part sadly. [Frown]

The quiz barely took me a few minutes. I feel more people could have answered based on the number of active users around!

Just as in the same way, more could share their film and equipment experiences from the hobby here and elsewhere from within the masses assigned to the various forums.

Not too many frequently do, though Evan.

Well, as long as you keep on having these quiz's, I'll keep on trying! [Smile]

Barry this quiz was so easy to get the correct answers I am
wondering if anyone actually got it wrong ?

I hope you get more entrants next time. [Smile]

I forgot to say that my computer failing slowly through late November and needing replacement mid December did keep me off line for a while and lead me to forget this quiz.

Barry,
if I were you,i would stop the quiz, you have tried, but the interest isn't there.
I must admit I never get around to doing these.

Yes "flogging a dead horse" does spring to mind David, which was exactly the same comparison I was using regarding the forum film and associated equipment postings here and elsewhere on these places.

It seems anyone actually active now, is very much a fast dying out breed!

Many would say the same for tactile film; for both still and moving images. However, I think we should embrace those who work to keep it alive!

Believe me...I've tried, but the above sentence applies now more than ever!!

Seemingly plenty of interest (always on the increase, membership numbers would suggest), but 99.999% of it mute????

Maybe all regulars to these places should follow suit and go mute, then what??

A new style 21st Century telepathic forum no doubt.
No words required.

Gordon Lighfoot could do the opening number for the new style way of communicating in these places perhaps, all in silence of course!

Or maybe even Bjork, she likes it quiet.

I feel eBay sales clearly show an interest in the hobby. There is undoubtedly more strength in a community of numbers versus the silent singles. I guess I wish there were more active members as well. It's become a digital community, where there are plenty of lurkers. I can't seem to find a physical community even here in NYC, where there are all sorts of niche markets!

Let me not stray from the topic. I don't feel Barry should give up just yet. Maybe the holidays were a distraction for many, maybe not. I know thy interrupted my normal routine. As long as you have these quizzes I'll be answering Barry!

my earlier point was that in the case of the quiz.,people don't seem interested. this does not in itself mean total apathy, just that maybe the quiz format has had its day.
I have never entered one,but do support Barry in regularly buying films from him. I also occasionaly contribute here.
but quizes don't interest me.

Well I've decided not to give up on my quizzes, as I do enjoy doing them. There's no new quiz for my next list, but I'm giving serious thought of trying a new style that may get people more interested in it, I'm also open to any ideas for a quiz format. It may have only been £24 in prizes for the last quiz, but I can tell you now all 3 winners were very happy, after all it is virtually money for nothing (just answering 10 questions, after all!).

Good on you Barry.
