Hi still got my elmo st160 mag optical ( £59 ) if anyone is interested.

I can buy a transformer for 200 VA for £15 delivered, or one 500 Va £23 delivered.

The transformer is rated at 200 VA/ or 500 VA 110 volts.

The machine is 100v or you can move a wire to 125v 200 VA.

Any thoughts on the amps etc please.

Its flippin mint so be nice to keep it really

Thanks Mark.

Is this an external transformer you are buying as an adapter?

If you buy the 500VA one, it will certainly run cooler and be less likely to fail, but then again is will be larger and heavier.

If the machine is 200VA and you run it with a 200VA transformer, you are driving with the gas pedal pushed all the way down on the floor: always nice to have some capacity to spare!

The input voltage select on the machine is a tradeoff: with 100V you will get a brighter lamp, 125 a dimmer one that you will need to change less often. The electronics inside the machine will also run cooler and last longer with the 125V setting. Given the age it already is, I'd be tempted more in this direction if it were me.

Hi Thanks Steve.

Anyone know what an eiki 16mm machine is watts like please as might be an idea to get one that covers those as well while on.

Thanks Mark.
