Just got a used Eumig S807D and it cannot run at 24 fps. 18fps runs fine. When I turn the switch to 24 fps, the wheel stops turning. Does it just need lubrication on its gears? What's a good lubricant to get?
Edit: Just found out it has to change at the stop position.

Yes, you should only change the speed when the projector's stopped. Before you change the gates over, you must ensure that the red dot on the knob at the back of the projector is in the 12:00 position, otherwise you could damage the claw. Your projector uses a clutch system. The shaft from the motor is mounted between two rubber-coated disks. The motor tilts so as to drive one or other of the disks depending on whether you've selected forward or reverse. When you change speed, the motor shaft is raised so as to make contact with a different area of the disks. I found that cleaning the rubber disks with 100% Isopropyl Alcohol worked well. The take-up reel arm cover comes off easily. There doesn't seem to be any screw holding it in place. How do I keep the arm cover attached to arm reel?
Will any silicon grease work to lubricate the gears?

On my S710D, the cover is held in place by two small screws at the rear of the arm. It looks like there could be four on yours. Why would anyone not refit them after removal? You can use a high melting point lithium grease sparingly if you need to although some on here have recommended Super Lube.

I like Super Lube. Looks like that cover is friction fitted. If it keeps falling off, I'd use a bit of tape to secure it.
