Sadly, my Elmo ST 180 M O projector is not powering up at all. I am going to open it up and find the fuse but prior to this, it began to flicker when transferring films. Any thoughts or suggestions? Is there a good repair shop I could send it to if needed? I am also looking to buy a reliable 8mm projector for transfers. ideally another Elmo. Thank you!

If you are transferring film using a camera pointed to the screen (not frame by frame method) the flickers must be caused by the camera speed which is higher then your 8mm speed/projector.
For you to know, some films were shot at 18 fps and other 24 fps. I don't know what is your films. But since you were in the USA, your camera must be on NTSC systems which has 29.97 fps.
So that the flicker comes from 29.97 fps trying to get picture that is projected at 24 fps.
The solustion is to find today's modern camera which can now be set at 24 fps. Try to get that one. I heard even an Iphone camera can do 24 fps.
But if your film is 18 fps, you still get flickers, unless the camera can be set to 18 fps which I am not sure.

Reginald, when you say "it began to flicker", do you mean that there were no flickering before ?

No Dom, according to my knowledge (I am not an english speaker), the projector run well on screening but it began to flicker during transfer.
