Why is there a 'habit' for films to have there credit crawl missing, either at the front or the end. Is there some mysterious depository somewhere with reels of credits?????
Any info appreciated.

Two reasons I can think of, Mark. TV prints had them cut for running times, plus their thought was 'who wants to sit through 3 or 4 minutes of credits' - secondly, ex-library prints probably suffered by being switched off as the credits started, with the print probably roughly removed from the projector leading to loss of frames - same with the starts of reels from ex-library prints - they're always rougher/splicier than the rest of the film.

The super 8 Arco 3x400' digests (English with Dutch subtitles) I've seen not only have the end titles cut, but they also have very abrupt endings. I assume it was to save money.
