So I guess I'm going into it. Anything particular to look for or first place to look at for this particular projector?

Thanks.

Randall
Please explain what is your problem. Spindle?

Certainly, sorry! Upon powering, then moving the with to motor, nothing happens, although the motor doesn't sound like its under a load. The take-up reel spindle does not turn. I turn the selector near the lens to the correct orientation (projector not in front of me now!). I know many projectors have a sort of clutch engagement, so perhaps this one does also. The manual seems to indicate its just thread and go.

Do I understand that the motor does run, but the mechanism doesn't?

If this is so it would appear that the drive belt has broken.

Take off the side cover where the lamp and shutter are. You can then see if the belt is OK.

If the belt is OK, and the mech does not operate it might be lack of lubrication. On my model there are four oiling points.

1) Top spool arm
2) Bottom spool arm
3) Oil hole near framing knob on top of mech
4) Oil hole for lower mech which is inside after taking off
the side cover referred to above.

Good luck.
